On Friday, I had a Dermatologist appointment in the city, the BIG city. For those of you who don’t know, I do not like driving in any “big” city – - I determine big by what I am/am not comfortable driving (anything with a population more than 50,000.) : )Since I have such a great husband, he took the day off to drive me to the doctor. We figured since he had the day off – - we might as well make a day of it.
Thursday night, I booked a hotel room in downtown Wichita (all of the hotels in the downtown area were over $100 a night – - I got this one for less than $65 – - including taxes), as it looked fairly close to both the doctor and Exploration Place. We got to Wichita, checked in to the hotel, found all of our destinations for the following day – - and then went to Cold Stone Creamery. Even though we ate before we left, we were all a bit hungry – - so we first went to Chipolte’s – - then Cold Stone. Friday morning, we went to Exploration Place, where we walked through the Our Bodies: The Universe Within exhibit, watched the Microcosm Video in the CyberDome (COOL), experienced the displays and had a quick lunch! At 2:30, we left for my doctors appointment. Followed by filling the car up with gas and then by 4:00pm, we were at the Mall! When I go to the “Big City,” I always pick up a pack or two of underwear – - I only wear Jockey Drawers from JC Penney – - as it is almost always a year or more between “City” visits. : ) We were also searching for a new pair of tennis shoes for me – - since I pretty much thrashed mine mowing with Honey. (I did manage the drawers {2 packs}, but, not the tennis shoes.) Then, we went to Krispy Kreme and got a dozen doughnuts!! Mmmmm!! Finally, we stopped at IHOP for dinner and Cold Stone for dessert. In all, we spent more than I would have liked {about $250 total}- – but, as the Honey said, this isn’t something we do often, so a little fun is good, right?
